Steele County Board of Commissioners has called a Special Board Meeting for Friday, April 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. This will replace the Regular Board meeting to be held on April 14, 2020. Press Release.
Due to the public health recommendations for social distancing with the COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting will be closed to the public for in-person attendance at the meeting place. March 20, 2020 - Steele County Announces Temporary Service Modifications
Steele County Minnesota – Steele County Board of Commissioners passed a Resolution declaring Steele County in a state of peacetime emergency due to COVID-19 pandemic event effective March 18, 2020 which required service delivery modifications to protect the staff and community.These temporary service modifications were put into place on March 19th at 7:30 a.m. and will continue through April 17th at 5:00 p.m. We will continue to design new ways of delivering services that, in the past, relied on face-to-face contact.

March 18, 2020 - Steele County Board Announces Closure of the County Facilities to the Public
As of 7:30 AM Thursday, March 19, 2020, Steele County will limit public access to County facilities through Friday, April 17, 2020, at 5:30 p.m. This is a difficult but necessary decision in order to help offset the pandemic spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Though we are doing what is best to promote overall health and well-being for the community by limiting face-to-face exposure, we still want to serve you as effectively as we can. The public restriction of access to county facilities will be as follows:
- Administration Center, Annex (Public Health and Extension Office), Community Corrections, Public Works Facility, Landfill Office (facility still open), and Four Seasons Centre will be closed through Friday, April 17, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
- Courthouse will continue to provide services on a scheduled basis
Staff will continue to provide supporting services, so please do not hesitate to call with any immediate needs you may have.
We appreciate your patience throughout this difficult and unprecedented time. We continue to urge members of our community to follow the most current guidelines set forth by the Minnesota Department of Health.
