The Human Resources Department is located on the first floor of the Steele County Administration Center at 630 Florence Ave. Our mission and vision are:

The Human Resources Department provides comprehensive services to over 300 full and part-time employees in Steele County, as well as providing contracted HR services to another 160 employees in our merged human services agency, Minnesota Prairie County Alliance. The Department includes 3.25 staff, including a Director, Assistant Director, HR Generalist, and a portion of a position for clerical support. Our employees are our greatest asset. The Human Resources Department is responsible for the following services/areas:
Recruitment and selection of employees
Contract negotiations and grievance administration
Classification and compensation systems
Benefits and leave administration
Development and administration of personnel policies and rules
Worker's compensation and unemployment programs
Workplace safety program
