Air Quality Issues

Information on air quality issues can be obtained from Environmental Services. Department staff can provide literature to residents on lead, such as where it can be found in the home, why it is harmful, how to abate the lead and who to contact to assist in removing lead. Call the office for help.

Environmental Services also has information on carbon monoxide.

Radon detectors can be purchased at a reduced rate through the department for home testing. Results of the tests are explained to the resident over the phone and mailed out. Staff can provide information on actions homeowners can take to minimize exposure to this lung cancer causing, invisible and odorless gas.

Information about asbestos removal and disposal can be obtained from the department office.

Environmental Services provides speakers at no charge to groups of all sizes and ages. Some of the common topics requested include recycling, household hazardous waste management, reducing waste, general solid waste issues, indoor air quality and water planning and management.

Public Health Nuisance Complaints
