CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS - DETENTION CENTER
Steele County Detention Center is taking applications for Corrections Officers to fulfill a Department of Corrections (DOC) contract. These positions are full-time and contingent on the DOC contract. The positions involve the care and control of inmates (male/female) in the Steele County Detention Center. The employee is responsible for making decisions based on Department of Corrections Rules and Department Policies and Procedures. Assignments are performed according to established policies and procedures.

HOME HEALTH AIDE-PT
Steele County Public Health Nursing Service is seeking a part-time Home Health Aid for the Adult Health Division. Responsibilities include working with individuals and families in the clients’ home providing personal care activities and other duties as assigned. The position requires certification as an HHA, valid MN driver’s license, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The position is part-time up to 19 hours/week (scheduled on an as needed basis); starting wage is $12.69 per hour.

Steele County Public Health Nursing Service is seeking to contract with a Registered Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include working with adult clients in their homes. FOUR SEASONS/PARK & REC PT ARENA & PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER
The Steele County Four Seasons/Park and Rec Department has openings for part time arena and park maintenance workers. The work involves responsibility for performing a variety of tasks requiring some skill and knowledge acquired through work experience. Assignments frequently include the use of standard or specialized hand tools, ability to operate light equipment, and the ability to associate with the general public. Work includes setting up and maintaining an ice sheet, care and maintenance of arena and other recreational areas.
Requirements for this position are a High School diploma and a valid driver’s license. Desired qualification is experience in maintenance of park and recreational facilities and ice arena.

SEASONAL SNOW PLOW OPERATORS
The Steele County Highway Department is seeking back-up snow plow operators for the County Highway system for the winter of 2015-2016. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment before use; snow and ice removal on roadways, and comply with DOT safety rules and regulations.
High School diploma, GED, Class B license and two years of snow removal operations required. Starting wage is $16.82 – $18.46 per hour.

CIVILIAN TRANSPORT OFFICER
The Steele County Detention Center is currently accepting applications for part-time civilian transport officers. These officers will be utilized to assist in the transportation individuals for a variety of reasons that may include Adult and Juvenile Criminal, Civil and Medical matters. There are no set hours for the transport officer positions as they are considered to be on-call and as needed basis. Current compensation has been set at $17.00 per hour. Requirements for this position include a High School diploma, valid driver’s license and successfully passing the screening and background checks. Experience in Law Enforcement field or Corrections may be beneficial but it is not necessary. Required training will be provided.

JUVENILE PROBATION OFFICER
Steele County is seeking a Part-Time (30 hours/week) Juvenile Probation Officer. Under the direction of the Director of Probation Services, the Juvenile Probation Officer is responsible for performing case management and juvenile probation services, facilitating rehabilitation, deterring delinquent behaviors, and providing restitution to the victim and the community through offender services.
Bachelor's degree in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology or a closely related field of study required. Starting salary of $19.07 per hour plus pro-rated benefits. Salary will commensurate with experience and education.

MECHANIC - HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
The Steele County Highway Department is seeking applications to fill a Highway Mechanic. This position is responsible for performing preventive and routine maintenance and the troubleshooting and repair of all Public Works vehicles and equipment. This position is also expected to operate highway equipment in the removal of snow and ice from assigned route(s).
Highway Mechanic requirements include a minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of vehicle, truck and heavy equipment. Class A commercial driver’s license with an air brake endorsement. Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector Certification. Hiring range: $19.65 – $21.57 (full pay range: $19.65 – $27.51), DOE.
